Most of our recent website builds have started life for a flat fee of £500.00 plus vat and normally don't rise to anymore than £1000.00 plus vat for phase one of the initial build.

How it would work is we would need to have some idea of your budget. We would need a deposit. This would help get the ball rolling by doing a feasibility study into the best way to tackle your project. Then we would work out how many hours we could dedicate each week / how much you could afford to pay each week to get the project developed. For example our hourly rate our hourly rate is £25.00 plus vat per hour. So, for example if you had a budget of £120.00 per week we could work 4 hours on your project. We give you an itemised breakdown of what has been done (and how much it has cost). You could either pay us over the phone with a bankcard. Set up a standing order or transfer via BACS. This is the way we work with lots of other clients and it works well.
As we have been building websites for 15 years we have found that sometimes development can be a 'pandora's box' of different challenges that don't become apparent until we get into the project. So unless you have a specific detailed brief of exactly what you want it's difficult to price most websites from the outset.
But having said that after the initial build is complete there would be a degree of ongoing maintenance and development possibly also from a marketing point of view. This is where the monthly packages would then apply.
We do the first hour consultancy free. At the end of this we can ask you if you wish to proceed. With your permission we record the meeting on a digital voice recorder. This helps us to build up a good picture of what you want. So it helps if you come to this initial meeting with a good concise plan as to what you require.
From there we take a deposit and agree on the level of resources both parties are going to commit to the project.
